Joseph Beaty grew up in the Chicago suburb of Naperville, IL. It was here that he got his start in bands, discovered Alternative/Industrial/Punk and played his first shows. Joseph left Chicago for Florida in the mid 90s. The punk and hardcore scene was thriving in Florida and it did not take long to get involved. His bands Cupajoe, Flinch 500 and Another One opened for acts like Discount, Less than Jake, 88 Fingers Louie and more. After a few bands had come and gone, Joseph remained vigilant and formed the band, Mindlikewater with friends, Joseph Butera III, Joe Dyer, Jim Wells, John Cheadle and Ryan Copt.

Mindlikewater played vigorously and recorded several albums including, Curving Toward the Sun. The Sophomore album was produced by legendary record producer, Tony Bongiovi (Talking Heads, Jimmy Hendrix, The Ramones, etc.) at Avalon/Power Station Recording Studio in Port Saint Lucie, FL. Beaty, Copt and Cheadle also founded the electronic industrial project, D_composure in 2003/2004.  D_composure continues to record and release music today. Combined, the two projects opened for bands such as Silversun Pickups, Muse, The Faint, Flyleaf, Korn and more.

2010 marked the beginning of a solo music project that is to continue indefinitely. Joseph continues to work with Tony Bongiovi on music for film and with his company, Bongiovi Acoustics.  He currently resides in Upstate NY with his family.  Stay tuned here for music and audio related news.
